College of Marinís Registered Nursing program is pleased to announce that 2017 will mark 50 years since the founding of the program! Since that time over 2000 nurses have graduated and secured careers as staff nurses, charge nurses, educators, professors, administrators, directors of nursing, and chief nursing officers. Current students are co-enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs, and upon graduation have gone on to receive bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees from California State University, University of California, and many private universities.
The following stories are from the survey of graduates. The survey asked for a description of the graduate’s professional life after nursing school – where they worked and in what capacity. Graduates were asked to share professional accomplishments, such as continuing their education, receiving awards/acknowledgments for their practice of nursing, and initiating or participating in innovative programs or projects. We asked for current involvement in nursing, nursing-related activities, or community service. We received amazing stories from our graduates, and with their permission are publishing them here.
